The Community Support Scheme (CSS) is a joint initiative between Tosú and the Irish Prison Service.
It is a structured release programme for people serving prison sentences of less than 18 months. The intervention comprises assessment, support and supervision = from prison to community, access to mainstream services and reintegration support. Specifically, all those referred are ‘risks and needs’ assessed for training, education, offending behaviour, health, and addiction issues, as well as home environment.
