I have been part of the Resettlement Team in the Midlands Prison since August 2023. My role involves pre-release planning with Clients to ensure that they have practical supports in place when leaving custody. My favourite part of the job is engaging with the Clients, hearing their stories and advocating for them. Every day in this role is different and while the work can be challenging it is extremely worthwhile.

As Operations Manager for prisons I am responsible for the development and delivery of our prison based services – The Resettlement Service, Gate Service and Community Support Scheme. I am
passionate about creating the conditions that support change, be that around access to housing, welfare or employment. Much of my role is developmental, working across prisons and service functions it is about developing support systems that bridge prison and community. Although challenging, I love the variety that each new day brings as we continually strive to improve outcomes for the people we work with, their families and the wider community.
