I am a Training and Employment Officer working across Mountjoy and Dóchas prisons. I have over 13 years of experience of supporting clients in securing employment that aligns with their goals and skills. This is achieved through my  collaboration with community, statutory, and voluntary-based organisations, as well as employers from all sectors, to create meaningful opportunities. I believe everyone deserves the chance to reach their full potential, and I feel privileged to support that journey through my work

As a Prison Supervisor and Resettlement Coordinator with Tosú. I support individuals in custody as they prepare for life after release. My main focus is helping clients complete essential applications—like housing, social welfare, and medical cards, to access vital supports on release. It’s about offering second chances, restoring hope, and helping people create new beginnings with dignity, purpose, and the tools to move forward

I am a dedicated Training and Employment Officer at TOSU, operating out of Limerick prison. I have a background in Social Care and a MA in Leadership in Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace. With a comprehensive educational background and a commitment to supporting individuals in their personal and professional development, I am dedicated to guiding clients toward meaningful and educational employment opportunities. My approach is centred on empowering individuals through client-focused strategies, fostering positive outcomes within the community.

I have extensive experience in the social care and criminal justice sectors. I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals in need experiencing homelessness and within the criminal justice system. I currently work in Arbour Hill and Mountjoy Prisons where I combine my expertise in rehabilitation, social services, and criminological theory to foster positive change and promote reintegration for clients. Passionate about helping others rebuild their lives. I bring a compassionate and knowledgeable approach to every aspect of my work.

I’m a Resettlement Coordinator with Tosú here in Wheatfield Place of Detention and Cloverhill prison,  I have worked in social services now for a number of years both with the elderly, disadvantaged and youth in the field of addiction and homeless services in the Dublin region,  Before coming to Tosú I worked on the frontlines of homelessness during the Covid pandemic within the Homeless hostels in Dublin city centre where I would have gained a massive amount of experience and knowledge around homelessness and the root causes of homelessness in Ireland and especially within Dublin’s city centre where the crises is more acute!

I am training and employment officer in Wheatfield Prison. I graduated with Bachelor of Social Science from Maynooth University, and I am currently undertaking a Master of Social Science (Social Policy and Rights) at Maynooth University. I have always enjoyed working with people and believe in the power of supporting new beginnings for our clients and the positive effects it can have for  individuals and wider society.

I’ve been working as a Resettlement Coordinator with Tosú for the past four years, supporting individuals in both Midlands and Portlaoise Prison. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Care and have always been passionate about working with people in a meaningful and supportive way. I really enjoy my job because no two days are ever the same. I find it incredibly rewarding to help people as they prepare to reintegrate into the community, and I believe that with the right support, everyone has the potential to build a better future.

As a Resettlement Coordinator in a prison, I find deep fulfilment in helping clients re-establish their lives. Managing medical cards, social welfare, and homelessness challenges is more than just a job for me; it’s my passion. I take immense pride in supporting individuals who deserve a second chance, and while the work can be tough and fast-paced, I embrace it wholeheartedly. I’m also committed to referring clients to services (if not already linked in), like addiction support, to empower them on their journey to a better life. Every day presents a unique experience, as the stories of each prisoner often bring moments of humour, heartache, and profound hope that enrich my work in this vital role.

Denise has worked for Tosú for over 13 years, based in Mountjoy Prison as a Training Employment Officer. I was recently promoted to a Prison Services Coordinator (National) role in supporting Tosú in the delivery of its strategy, business, and operational plans. I have primary responsibility for supporting and developing prison-based services in collaboration with The Operations Manager, and the Prison Services Supervisors. I provide day-to-day support and management of critical components of prison services, and related agencies in order to provide the utmost support to the teams and therefore our clients.

My role involves supporting clients to maintain desistance and to bridge the gap between them and the prison service. One of the fantastic aspects of the position is that no two days are the same as the programme is tailored to suit the needs of each individual person. Based in Smithfield, I cover Mountjoy and the Dochas Centre and consider it a privilege to get to work with my clients over an extended period of time.
