I am a lifelong student of society, crime and the interaction between them. With a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a master’s in Comparative Criminology and Criminal Justice, I have gained useful experience over the years in legal aids, social care and criminology. I currently work as a Resettlement Coordinator in the prisons and one interesting thing I have learned is that; no two cases are ever the same. When I am not working, I enjoy taking long walks, reading, and seeing movies. Fun Fact: I bet you can’t beat me in a game of Scrabble
My role involves working with clients who are released under the Community Support Scheme. This work offers support to those released under the scheme to promote desistence and to assist with their reintegration. I cover Cloverhill Prison and am based in the Midlands Prison where I am also supervisor for the Tosú team in the Midlands and Portlaoise Prisons. This is hugely rewarding, and important work and I count myself lucky to be part Tosú and its mission to effect positive change.
I am the Training and Employment Officer in Cork prison. One day you might find me running a lecture series along with colleagues in Munster Technological University, another I’m on the phone to employers to advocate for my clients. I come from a community work and theatre background and I have experience working with people from all walks of life. Working in a prison isn’t for everyone but the people I meet through the course of my work inspire me every day as we build trust and seek out pathways that will help them build stable futures.
I am a Prison Supervisor for our team in Castlerea Prison and Loughan House, and Training & Employment Officer with the Linkage Service in the Dublin Region. This combination of prison and community allows me to be part of the wide variety of services within Tosú, which is very exciting. No dull days!

My name is Neala and I am the Training and Employment Officer in Shelton Abbey Open Centre. I have worked in six different prisons and have been working in Tosú for over 7 years. I really enjoy the work I do and am passionate about supporting my clients and empowering them to move forward in their lives. The local community and local business owners are incredibly supportive of the work we carry out as a team here in Shelton, and it really is a privilege to work in the open centre as it can afford wonderful opportunities for progression for my clients.
Working as a Resettlement Coordinator since 2016, assisting clients with their resettlement needs. I was promoted to Prison Services Coordinator in 2024, using my knowledge and experience to manage my highly effective team. I am an advocate of planned releases to stable accommodation. I work with statutory and community organisations to help my clients to access services that will enable them to live a more stable life and help them to see that a future free from crime is possible.
I am the Training and Employment Officer for Loughan House Open Centre, Blacklion, in county Cavan. My job is to support clients to develop their skills, training and employment that will help them re-integrate into the society. My interest is to promote rehabilitation to reduce reoffending by supporting, encouraging and motivating the prisoners by helping them achieve a realistic career goals. I have learnt from my work that even people who made serious mistakes can change especially when given real opportunities like employment and training.

I have over 13 years of experience of supporting clients in securing employment that aligns with their goals and skills. This is achieved through my collaboration with community, statutory, and voluntary-based organisations, as well as employers from all sectors, to create meaningful opportunities.
