My role as a resettlement worker involves supporting individuals transitioning from prison back into the community with a focus on accommodation, accessing social welfare entitlements and obtaining medical cards. my job is to help clients address immediate post release needs connecting them with critical services to bridge the gap of leaving prison and encouraging reintegration into society. My background is in psychotherapy, homeless services and case management.

I value the opportunity to work alongside clients to explore opportunities, confront challenges and pursue their goals. We work together to understand and accept their situation and develop a path towards the future they want. We learn from each other through this process. I particularly enjoy working with groups to facilitate understanding and personal development. I have an MA in Adult and Community Education and a Higher Diploma in Adult Guidance and Counselling.

In my role I provide a stepping-stone from pre-release to post release, offering supports in Training, Employment and Education. I love advocating for people who feel they have no voice or don’t get heard or believe there is nothing out there for them. I have met so many clients that have fallen due to their social circumstances, addictions, homelessness etc and really want to change. I try always to empower them, to listen and remind them that it is never too late to restart and that I am happy to help and support in whatever way I can.

I have a vast experience in Career Guidance and Addiction Counselling. My background in Addiction Counselling plays an instrumental role in my approach to Career Guidance Counselling. I assist clients in identifying their strengths, interests and values which are essential components in selecting the right path. By proving tailored advice in a professional, non-judgemental environment, I can help clients explore different options enabling them to make informed decisions about their futures.
