Welcome to Tosu… Grinds & Tuition

Tosú is a new initiative in learning.  Our aim is help you achieve your individual educational goals, whatever they may be.  Whether you are looking for a fun way to learn Irish, to maximise your points for the Leaving Cert, to prepare for the HPAT exam or to help your child make the most of their primary school education, our approach is the same – to provide the best possible environment to enable to achieve your goal as effectively as possible.

In our experience, the current educational system and teaching methods in Ireland in general often leave students feeling frustrated as the emphasis is placed not on understanding but on learning off by heart.  As well as this, increasing class sizes and pressure on teaching staff has led to a “one size fits all” approach to education, which explains why so many students fall behind.

At Tosú we believe that the solution to these problems is to promote learning that is based on understanding and teaching methods that are focused on the needs of the individual.  This has an immediate practical impact in terms of exam results but we also notice a change of attitude in Tosú students – learning becomes more natural and enjoyable as they become genuinely enthusiastic about the subject.  We also aim to encourage independent learning so that students get more out of their education, whether at school or studying alone.

Don’t just take it from us…

A sincere thank you for all your help with my chemistry grinds. It really showed in the result that I got because without your help I would have done much worse. One of the advantages that I found in your teaching methods was that you went into great detail on each topic which gave me a greater understanding of the course which enabled me to achieve my highest potential. I also found that your notes were of the highest quality and of great benefit to me in my revision.Your help was very much appreciated.

Thank you very much for all the help you gave me for the HPAT. I found the classes extremely beneficial. I thought the in depth analysis of the HPAT questions was very helpful. Also discussing the questions with you and the other members of the class really helped me gain a greater understanding of the mindset required to solve these types of questions. Having attended the HPAT classes with you for the year I felt I was very well prepared for the exam. In the end I got a score of 179 and the 80th percentile and I got a place in UCC. The previous year I got 159 and 63rd percentile so I was delighted to have made such improvement. Thank you again for all your help
